CHILL is a not-for-profit, learn to ride board sport program for at-risk youth.

Through the medium of board sports CHILL aids young people to accomplish goals they never thought possible, while teaching some of the most important lessons of life:

  • Patience
  • Persistence
  • Responsibility
  • Courage
  • Integrity
  • Pride

The Origins

Jake and Donna, the founders of Burton Snowboards, started Chill in 1995 in Burlington, Vermont to bring snowboarding to youth who otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity. The program had such an immediate and profound impact that they have continued to expand into new cities, new boardsports and new countries over the past 14 seasons. www.chill.org

Chill has positively impacted over 14,000 underserved youth in 14 North American cities, Sydney, Australia, and Innsbruck, Austria.

The Origins: Australia

For the past 5 years, CHILL has partnered with local social service organisations such as the Northern Sydney Central Coast Area Drug and Alcohol Services, the Morris Trust, the Burdekin Association, StreetWork Youth Service and most recently Youth of the Streets.

Chill needs the help and support of generous individual donors and corporate sponsors to be able to continue offering quality skateboard/snowboard programming to underserved youth.
